You have heard it a thousand times: "Get free traffic with our super traffic program!". You have signed up for the program and you have worked the program but the traffic was not there or if it was there, then the traffic consisted of useless hits and not targeted website visitors. What have you done wrong? Did the program owners promise too much? Did the program not work? Did you work the program the wrong way? Stop guessing and read this article to get some answers to your questions!

Free traffic is great but worthless if you just get hits and not targeted website visitors. So whenever you are busy generating free traffic keep an eye on what the people are doing at your website. In one word: Tracking!!! This is major important for any online business and quite often overlooked by "newbies". If you do not track your visitors, then you will not succeed on the net! So before you even think about generating traffic to your website, install a tracking script. You can get one for free from google, it is called "google analytics".

Like you know there are many ways to get free traffic to your website. What you might not know is, that all or most of them work. They are there because they work, otherwise nobody would use them! It is just the way how you use these free traffic programs that can either result in getting hits or getting targeted visitors. In case to get real targeted visitors you need to combine several programs in a way that you convert un-targeted hits into targeted visitors. This is most important and separates the losers from the winners. There are many ways to do this and not all can be covered in this article but if you understand the basic procedure once, then you will know how to do this with many different free programs.

An Example Of Traffic Conversion:

1.) You need your very own Lead Generating Website or how they call it today: a Squeeze Page

2.) You use manual click exchanges to drive traffic to your Squeeze Page

3.) You offer a free ebook at your Squeeze Page for people who sign up for your list or newsletter

4.) You deliver the free ebook with a welcome message

5.) You deliver more free useful stuff

==> Now you can get traffic to any website you want by sending out one email.

6.) You Sign Up for free co-registration programs

7.) You install the co-registration script on your websites and get more free leads

This is one free method to get an unlimited stream of free targeted traffic. You can maximize this stream of free traffic by implementing a viral effect:

1.) You create a free ebook about the technique explained above, including your referral links of the free traffic programs

2.) You promote the free ebook on your Squeeze Page, give it away for free.

3.) You promote your free ebook through many more free ways like free directories, search engines, giveaway events and others.

4.) You will get referrals in the free traffic programs and with this more free traffic.

As said above, this is only an example, you can do this with many different free traffic programs, not just click exchanges. If you are the owner of FFA pages, or if you use safelists you can do the same. You can also implement this with article marketing and other content driven traffic methods.

Use your imagination to build these kind of strategies, try to get the most out of every hit and every visitor. Most important is that you build Squeeze Pages and your list. You can get more information on this whole topic if you follow the link below in the author box.

Online business is bigger than it ever has been, even during the booming days of the so-called "dot.com bubble". The wealth is spread more evenly than ever before as well, with thousands of people every day making a fortune from their websites with ideas and ways to do things that no one has ever thought of before (or at least never had the courage of their convictions). If you have a website, and a great idea, you may be wondering why this success has not come knocking on your door. The answer is in marketing. Website traffic doesn’t happen automatically, and it rarely happens by accident. The most profitable and successful websites got that way through a concerted effort on advertising and spreading the word. If you’re not sure how to get started, here are a few things you can do to start driving traffic to your website.

One of the most powerful tools any internet entrepreneur will put to use is search engine optimization. This is a fancy term for making your website attractive to Google and the like. This means adding fresh and relevant content on a daily basis, using specific keywords to populate your content, and using a variety of tags in order to entice the "spiders" these search engines use to crawl the World Wide Web. Reams have been written on the ins and outs of search engine optimization. Your best bet is to visit message boards and forums dedicated to the subject and learn all you can. On the other hand, if you have plenty of money, you may want to consider hiring a firm to optimize your website for you.

If you want to advertise with little out of pocket cost, your best bet might be pay-per-click advertising. Have you ever typed in a search phrase and seen those results in the sidebar that say "sponsored search results". These ads are using pay-per-click advertising, and it can be a very effective way to get targeted traffic to your website. Ranking highly in the natural search engine rankings can be a difficult and arduous process, particularly if the keywords relevant to your website are highly competitive. With pay-per-click, you simply bid on those keywords to ensure a good ranking on the first page of results. This type of advertising takes some tweaking and trail and error to find the right amount to spend per click, but once you nail down the science, it can be profitable.

Of course, nothing will improve your search engine ranking faster than a ton of backlinks from higher ranking websites. Of course, on the other hand, these links can be difficult to procure. Link exchange can work, but the jury is out on how effective this is. Links to your website without a return link are much more powerful, and an indication to the search engines that your website has merit and is an authority in whatever field your website is in.

There are more ways to drive traffic to your website than there are websites on the internet. Try a bunch of different methods, and find out which ones work best for you. If you hit on one great way, it can all you need to shoot your website into the stratosphere and you could be the next dot.com millionaire.

FeedBurner is a free service that allows you to track your feed traffic and all kinds of other fun stuff. It won’t create a feed for you from scratch as often believed - rather it wraps itself snugly around a feed you bring in and adds its services therein. It has a few premium options for the serious feed publisher, too.

People ask me all the time if I suggest that they use FeedBurner’s plethora of free feed enhancement tools. I have always answered a resounding “Yes!” – But lately FeedBurner has moved itself to a whole new level.

Did I mention most of these tools are free, and can help increase the traffic you get to your blog, by using your feed?

Increasing Your Blog Traffic FREE
with FeedBurner

Blog Traffic Increaser # 1- Give others permission - or shake the no-no finger - with the Creative Commons option, found under the Publicize tab in your FeedBurner dashboard.

It will pop in the logo if you like, and explain what permissions others have to use your feed. Being clear about what permissions others have to use your feed with encourage them to display your headlines on their site – or let them know that they must link to you to cite your views.

Blog Traffic Increaser # 2- Turn your feed into a newsletter with Feedblitz or Squeet under Publicize/Email Subscriptions.

This turns your feed into a newsletter. It even gives you a subscribe form for your site. Now you now have a(nother) ezine option to go with your blog without any extra work.

Blog Traffic Increaser # 3- Use the Browser-Friendly version, combined with FeedFlare to explain what an RSS Feed is.

First on the Optimize tab, the Browser-Friendly version turns your RSS feed into a web page, so that when new people click on your feed, without knowing what it is, they’ll know how to use it. All you do is link to the FeedBurner version of your feed, instead of your default feed address. FeedBurner will even help you with this.

But before we talk about that, here’s an extra tip: under the FeedFlare option on the Optimize tab, you’ll find the Personal Flare section. If you click one of the links given, you will see one called “Get Email Updates”. Once you have the Email Subscription option enabled, you can enable that link in your feed to provide the option to subscribe to your updates via email.

Facebook, at its most basic level, is what it sounds like. In the olden days before the Internet, when I was just a wee girl, a facebook was a book with photographs in it, meant to help people on campus get to know each other, from alumni and staff to students and teaching faculty. If you know someone on Facebook, that’s reason enough to join. Yes, like AOL was, it is a “walled garden”, meaning it’s a closed network where the general public can’t see what you’re up to - you have to be a member to get beyond faces, or to interact with the faces you see.

Here’s a quick list of how to use Facebook to get Free Traffic .

You can be yourself more, and still be professional.
There are ways to say things on Facebook that aren’t exactly risqué, but that you wouldn’t put on your blog, either, due to audience conflicts or content compatibility issues.

It’s easier and faster to get to know people you admire.
There are many people whose content I enjoy, that I’d like to get to know better, in a deeper way than commenting on their blog would allow, but is not as intrusive as random emailing or calling them on the phone out of the blue.

Facebook allows me to find and talk to those people, and soak up a whole different batch of their wisdom than the public at large gets to see.

So if you find out that someone you admire is on Facebook and they aren’t yet overwhelmed with noise, get on and Friend them before their list goes over 100 - that seems to be the point at which the noise has the potential to overwhelm the signal.

It helps you establish common ground to facilitate deeper bonds when networking.
You have a lot more leverage to introduce yourself to someone if you participated in several of the same discussions and are interested in the same things. With a blog you have a fleeting connect until someone comments repeatedly.

I mean, honestly, how many blogs do you visit every single day, of the ones that are in your reader?

Facebook has a system that reminds me to care for and feed my relationships with people in a way that a blog doesn’t. When you bump into someone enough within this remnder system, you’ll want a way to connect to each other more often.

It’s intimate.
This point can’t be overstated. Facebook feels like a bunch of small gatherings, even when there’s a conversation in a big group taking place among hundreds of people.

This makes people feel comfortable, when they’re comfortable they relax, when they relax, they’re more open. Meeting colleagues, potential clients and your favorite gurus is a completely different experience than when you meet them in a more public part of the Net - for better or for worse, you’ll often get the most accurate version of a person you can online.

Facebook friends are more likely to help spread your content.
In the past week that I’ve been more active than usual on Facebook, I’ve been included in Scoble’s linkblog, which led to getting on the first page of Sphinn.

I didn’t even know he read my content, we’re really only Facebook and Twitter friends, it’s not like I know the guy, though Facebook makes it feel like I do.

I also have had more of my other content either replied to or submitted to social news sites by people not on my team than in just about any othe community I’ve ever particpated in.

You can display your expertise instead of just talking about it.
It’s one thing to get compliments by peers, or to be published in a prestigous online publication because of somethng you wrote - in fact, it’s a great thing. A wonderful enhancement to that is when a potential client sees you edified by one of your peers. It’s extremely powerful, because it happens in real time.

Facebook brings you 30 million potential people for you to market to - Without Necessarily Actively Marketing to Them.
Facebook is not a place to spam your link and people who do are mostly ignored, and occasionally chastized. Yet, even though I have not done one single thing to market myself on Facebook, I’ve got a whole new audience stream from it.

No, really, besides doing the best three things that can get people from my Facebook profile to my web page, I have done zero marketing on Facebook - and yes, there are ways to market on Facebook besides networking, I just haven’t used any of them.

And yet I get constant traffic.

It feels like a fun waste of time but it can actually double as highly productive time spent on your online business.
I know I don’t have to explain to you why feeling like you’re goofing off, when you’re growing your business, is a good thing.

The additional stream of traffic I get to my blog from Facebook is more interactive.
With only 52 friends and one network able to see my full profile - the people who come here from there are more likely to reply to posts, and they leave deep conversationsl responses. Makes sense when you think about it - traffic from a more interactive community is more likely to… um… interact.

You’ll find all kinds of long lost friends.
There are people I haven’t heard from, literally since college, that I found again through Facebook. It made my eyes mist up to see some of them around again, and doing well. That’s the best present I could ever get from being online and it was totally free.

In every single internet marketing website or blog, these seven strategic steps will always take place. These steps are must-dos for every internet marketers.

1.Obtain A Good Domain Name

A domain name is an address of your website, better known as a URL. It is unique because it distinguishes your website's name and identity from the other websites. Make your URL something easy to remember and simply typed in by people. It could be your name, the name of your product or a summarised name fit for your website's purpose. I do not normally recommend numbers in your URL because when you verbally tell other people about your website, because you have to state whether it is a number or a word. Also, do not use complex words that people find hard it to spell and type.

A fully qualified domain name includes the host name, which is world wide web or www and the domain registrar which is the part after the dot, as in .com. The .com is the most recommended one to use other than .net or .info because it is easily listed or accepted in search engines and it is good for businesses. Other domain registrars such as .org/.edu/.gov are not good for business, as they stand for orgeanizational, educational and goverment respectively.

2.Find A Webhost

A webhost is a company that allows you to host your website on their servers. A webhost is like a so-called landlord for you to go through before you can live in the house that is on his land, which is your website. Like when you're looking for a house to rent, you have to take a look at the facilities and services in the house that is provided to you. So, a webhosting account has certain features for you to look at to see which are the services that you need to have your website running as smoothly as posible.

You need a website that provides you with at least 5 Gigabytes of space for you to promote your products and at least 500mb/s of data transfer, which is the speed of which the time your website takes to download at a visitor's webpage. They might also provide you with a good website builder if you want to design the website yourself. Find out if they also allow you to input email accounts, audio, video, "shopping carts" for your products, and so on. Also, it'd be great if they have the amazing cPanel feature, which is a control panel that provides you with all the practical applications suitable for your website.

3.Website Design

Firstly, choose a website template suitable for your business. Do remember that the human eye focuses mostly on the top, right and center part of the website. So if you want to emphasize on your newsletter/mailing list subscription, product or a promotion, place it at the optimum level of the website.

For design, you can use Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver or your webhost's website builder. If you do not have any experience whatsoever, try learning or hiring a web designer. The colour of your website should not be glaring to the human eye. A professional white background is good for business.

4.The Content

The content of your website is very important. People love to get free information about a desire or a need they have to satisy. Give them more than what they expect and make them trust you with their money. Just when they're burning and yearning for more details, simply promote your product. It has to state how the product or service benefits the user, how it has improved other people's lives by using testimonials and promote the other bonuses you're adding on, etc. Visuals are important for credibility. If you're selling physical products, take a picture of them. If you're selling digital products like softwares or e-books, get an electronic cover or an e-cover for them.

5.An Autoresponder

An autoresponder is an automatic e-mail feature that allows you to keep in contact with your visitors and customers. For example. you may send an automatic e-mail to thank someone for subscribing to your list or to give out automatic newsletters at a weekly basis. Do bear in mind that you also need to provide your visitors and customers with an option to opt out of your list. This is preferably stated at the bottom of your e-mails.

There are many good and well-known autoresponder programs like Aweber and GetResponse that is mainly used by businesses worldwide.

6.Traffic Generation

The fastest way to get traffic is through pay-per-click advertising. This means that for every click your ad gets for your visitors to come to your site, you will have to pay for it. Do read up on pay-per-click strategies and how to use them properly or you might end up paying more than what you can afford. Using pay-per-click advertising, it is easier to make the target market come to your site because of the key words and phrases you use that attracts them to your product or service.

You can optimize your site for search engines like Google and Yahoo! to easily find you using the Search Engine Optimization method or SEO. Basically you have to type in specific HTML tags into your website's HTML to make the so-called search engine "robots" find you easily and list your website as one of the results generated when a visitor types in the relevant keywords related to your website. This is a tasking job. You might want to ask a web programmer to do it if you don't understand, or you may find some SEO templates lying around on the internet.

There is also the free traffic method, but I do not normally recommend that because the people that come in to your site will not be your target market, just visitors in general.

7.Your Payment Gateway

Payment gateways such as 1shoppingcart, Clickbank and Paypal are popularly used by businesses. They accept sales processing credit cards and they automate your business transactions. use a good payment gateway that benefits you with their features.

The Internet Marketing Strategy's 7 Standard Steps is crucial for you to follow. It is how you implement them that can state the golden future of your website. Read up more on these internet marketing strategies to learn and apply them properly.

To get straight to the point, you need capital. To make money requires you to spend money as well. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you can find to help optimize the potential of your website or business in generating traffic.

Most people just getting into an internet business don't have the monetary backing they need to generate the required traffic to their website. Your in luck! You don't have to spend any money to drive traffic to your website if you have some time. It will take a commitment of time and work but with perseverance you will succeed.

It's really sweet to generate more traffic to your website without spending a single cent, if you know how. We can tell you it's a sure thing that there are many websites with information that offer tips and guidelines on how to generate traffic using only free methods. But just because it is possible to generate traffic without spending a single cent, you must realize it may take time, and to say honestly, we are not going to beat around the bush with you, while your odds are higher, and much quicker by paying for your advertisements, at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods we are about to tell you.

The goal is to target people who are looking for what you have to offer. There is no better way then taking advantage of online forums and communities. These people will fit your demographics and you will be able to discuss your niche area with them. You will not have any surprises and you will be comfortable in your knowledge level when conversing with these people.

With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for yourself and your business. Show people what you are made of and "wow" them with your range of expertise about a particular subject. With that you can build the most important trait, trust, and a reputation among the people in your expertise and knowledge group.

Newsletters seem to be a huge success when it comes to generating website visitors. Have something of value to offer people to sign up for your newsletter like free gifts, reports, or anything that is of some value to the reader. Make sure you have entertaining and valuable information in your newsletter and you will see them pass this information along to those they know, which will increase your website traffic even more.

One of the best methods of generating free traffic is through link exchanging with someone who has a business similar to yours but that is not in competition with you. When people who visit your partner's site see your link they will be curious and click on your link, giving you traffic you would not have had otherwise.

We can't think of any better free traffic generating tool than the writing of articles. You can write articles related to your niche and submit them to hundreds of article directories which will will be read by hundreds of people. Not only does this create links back to your website, people who are curious about you will click on your link in the resource box and go to your website for more infornation.

It is critical that you learn how to create a resource box the right way. It's hard to imagine that such little information will be more important than the article itself. Get it right and you have a ton of visitors. Get it wrong and you will hurt your reputation.

It is important to have keywords in your website content. You must know what people are searching for in the form of keywords and then include them throughout your website. The content on your website is going to either sell the prospect or chase them away. Your heading is critical as people spend the first five seconds determining if they want to stay or leave. Search engines will also rank your page according to the match between your keywords and the content of your website. This is an area that I advise you to get more information on as it can create massive traffic if done correctly.

Our experience tells me that you will receive valuable free website traffic from the above methods. It will take time and some work but for those of you with a limited budget, or no budget, you have no choice if you are seeking a good flow of traffic to your website.

Did you know the reason most people go online is not to buy anything, but rather to get free information? It's true. So how can you use this information to your advantage? Provide that information in the form of free articles.

Why free articles?

Because writing articles gives you a dependable method of generating free traffic to your website, whenever you want to. Trust us on this, we at autosrufmonster.com do it every single day. Want more traffic? Just write more articles. It's as simple as that. And generally speaking more traffic equals more sales.

Writing articles is still one of the quickest and easiest ways of bringing free, targeted traffic to your website. Writing articles will bring you traffic from three reliable sources: Ezines - Ezine publishers are always on the lookout for fresh content. They desperately want and need free articles.

If you write articles and allow them to be freely published, your articles become viral, meaning your articles can actually spread like a virus and have the potential to be viewed by millions (yes millions) of Internet users. Also, when your article is published, it is then archived and can remain on the publishers website for years - making your article available to search engines for years as well.

Websites - More and more webmasters are building content-rich websites. They've all heard the expression, "Content is King." Believe me. Many webmasters are heeding those words. As a result, they also need your articles.

Search Engines - When your article gets published, the URL in your resource box is a link back to your website. Inbound links increase your link popularity, resulting in higher search engine rankings for your website.

Here are 3 steps for getting the optimum amount of traffic from your articles:

1. Use a compelling headline. Write your headline for your article the same as if you were writing a headline for an ad or sales letter.

The same principles apply. Answer this question in your headline "What's in it for me?" That's all your readers really care about. What's in it for them? Answer this question is your headline, and your article will get read. We should also mention, Publishers are also attracted to compelling headlines. So the more compelling your headline is, the greater chance you have of getting your article published.

2. Write about popular topics. For example, this article is about writing articles. Since this is a popular topic, this article has a better than average chance of not only getting read by many people, but getting published as well.

3. Write as many articles as you can, as quickly as you can. This is the hardest part about writing articles for most people - being disciplined enough to write a bunch of articles.

The excuse we hear most often is, "I'm too busy to write articles." Here's our answer to that ridiculous excuse - make the time! We are busy too. But we make the time to write plenty of articles because we've seen the incredible impact they've had on our business. If you put in the necessary effort required for a few months, writing articles and submitting them to the top article directories, those articles will generate plenty of free traffic for you for years to come!

Today every web site in Internet is fighting for targeted web site traffic. But what are the results of this fight? Statistics says that out of 36,000,000 web sites that already exist in Internet, only few percent get real targeted visitors.

Where do these lucky web site owners get their traffic? The best way to answer this question is to look what famous Internet marketers do on their web sites to get and increase web site traffic.

Famous Internet marketing gurus: Joe Vitale, Yanik Silver, John Reese, Dan Kennedy, Jeff Mulligan, Terry Dean and others use a bundle of time-proven strategies and Internet marketing tools that give real effect in web site promotion and give free traffic.

Time proven strategies that increase free web site traffic include:

1. Find successful joint venture partners and affiliates in your niche to get targeted web site traffic for your online business.

Every business niche has top web sites: there owners are very successful with getting traffic and have targeted visitors and clients. You find top web sites in your niche, email their owners and give them affiliate offer or negotiate to become your joint-venture partners.

If you succeed, you will get access to their clients and subscribers. You will share part of your profits with the partners, but they will give you free targeted web site traffic and visitors. These partners and affiliates will become your free traffic system - a living organism that works to bring you real and targeted traffic.

2. Raise web site rank and get targeted traffic with link exchange.

Link exchange can grow web site rank and increase traffic for any web site from search engines. You must put a link to the web site in your niche (this web site should better have high page rank), and put the link to this web site on your site in return.

When search engines check you web site and see many links from other site on it, and also see many links of your web site on these sites, they "think" is really good. They give your web site a higher rank and when someone runs a search for your keywords, your web site gets to the top in found results.

So, link exchange works like an automatic and absolutely free traffic system that drives targeted traffic for any web site.

3. Get bigger effect from the traffic you drive to web site with professional mailing tools.

Mailing tools increase the quality of web site traffic. Quite often after visitors get to the web site, they spend up to 30 seconds on it and leave the web site forever. Professional mailing tools help to catch visitors and motivate them for staying on the web site for longer.

Mailing tools can educate visitors about the benefits of your products/services, mailing tools can encourage clients for more purchases with advertising campaigns, mailing tools can help you to qualify your subscribers and clients, how motivated they are for your products, what they need, etc.

Mailing tools are the voice of your web site in Internet, this voice should be professional and persuasive.

4. Increase effectivity from targeted web site traffic with URL tracking tools.

It is impossible to run any online business without the tools that help to track the response of your prospects, subscribers and clients to your text ads, to your new offers, to your advertising campaigns, etc. Without tracking you never know how targeted is your traffic.

The strategy is simple: track and check what gives you losses and what gives profits. Stick with the things that give profits, try new approaches, test them with URL tracking and stick with the things that work again. After good testing your web site will turn into a highly effective mechanism that will bring you more and more profits.

This URL tracking scheme shows if your free traffic system methods work fine and bring you any profits.

5. Use attention-catching technologies to get targeted traffic to your web site.

When visitors get to your web site, you give them some useful info or offer in the pop-up. You can give then educational course about the benefits of your products or service, useful updates on the topics that have close relation to your product or service - the most important is to motivate your visitor to submit name and email into subscription form in the pop-up window. When they subscribe, you get this visitor into you database.

Once you got the visitor into your database, you can follow up this client with more products and services that you have. You may have more products and services in future, and this visitor will be your potential client for all of them.

But be very careful. Do not flood your visitors with useless offers. If they feel you are pushing them too hard to buy something, they will
unsubscribe from your database.

These Are Not All Time-Proven Strategies That Give Free Targeted Web Site Traffic, But They Have One Drawback...

These strategies need many different Internet marketing tools, plus time and efforts to execute them and get targeted traffic.

The only solution to this problem is a tool that can automate all these strategies and run them with one web-based tool. This professional tools will save you time, money and efforts.

There are lots of ways to get traffic to your website however most people are interested in getting the most traffic for the least amount of money, preferably for free.
While it's difficult to get anything for free nowadays there are still a few good ways to help build your web traffic and still pay nothing.

1. Build a second content-rich website.
Because content is king on the internet many have adopted the idea of building a content-rich site in addition to their original sales site.

If you set up your title, description and keyword tags carefully and find a good balance for your keyword saturation, you may be better able to achieve high search engine rankings with a site that contains only good content and information.Once you have built your content-rich site you can then use the content to point your viewers to your sales site.

2. Add an article page to your existing site.
By adding article pages to your web site you can once again point your readers to your sales page.

For example, let's say you have a website that sells vitamins. Set up a few article pages that reference vitamins such as a page on the benefits of vitamins, how to take vitamins, the effects of vitamins, etc. Allow each of the articles to reference links to your sales page.

This can be a very effective sales tactic because you've attracted the attention of someone interested in your topic. If they read your article and like what they've read they're more apt to check out your links and you've increased your chances of making a sale. Also, with proper meta tags and keyword usage, an article page is much more likely to make it to the top of a search engine listing than a sales page.

3. Submit your articles
Any articles that you write should be submitted to as many sites that accept articles as possible.

This is important because sites that accept and include your articles in their article banks establish links for you and you are not obligated to reciprocate.

4. Build your links through reciprocal linking
By establishing reciprocal links you are verifying to the search engines that you have credibility. If high ranking sites link to your site then the search engines will find you worthy of high ranking as well.

Find sites that rank well and request a link exchange. This can be done manually or you can purchase linking programs that will automate this for you. Either way spend a few weeks focusing on creating quality links and you will soon see your link ratings go up as well.

5. Join and participate in online forums.
The internet is full of discussion forums that cover hundreds of business and non-business topics.

Find a forum in your topic and look over the discussions. Ask questions, contribute your expertise and get to know some of the forum members. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet others and introduct your website. It also helps build trust while helping you learn how others have found success.

When it comes to traffic generation, all traffic is not created equal. While there are many ways to increase web site traffic, the reality is that increased traffic does not necessarily translate to greater business and profit. It's the quality of the traffic you receive that is a huge factor in business success. You need traffic that is 'targeted' to your business.

Unfortunately, the more effective ways to receive targeted traffic such as Pay-Per-Click advertising can also become quite expensive. While most of what passes for free traffic is worthless, there are legitimate ways to get free targeted traffic, and three that we use consistently to generate sign-ups for our business are Article Directories, Forums, and Newsgroups.

One of my favorite ways to get free targeted traffic is writing short articles for Article Directories. The benefits of submitting articles to these directories are numerous, and can increase you web site traffic in several ways. For starters, you'll receive traffic from people reading your articles and clicking on your link in your 'Resource Box'. You'll also receive lots of residual traffic as Ezine and other publishers use your articles for publication on their web site. In fact, some of the articles you write today will bring you traffic years from now, since once published, articles tend to stay published.

Another benefit of writing articles is that once you have published several informative or entertaining articles, people will start looking for your writings as they might for a columinist in a newspaper. People will start referring your writings to friends and business associates. The bottom line is, you won't find many better ways to create free long term traffic than by writing articles. Don't overlook this source of internet traffic.

Another one of our favorite ways to get lots of free targeted traffic is posting to forums and blogs. If you do a search for 'online forums' you'll get thousands of results. Forums and blogs are a place where people come together to communicate, teach, learn and network with other like minded people. What some overlook however is that forums and blogs are also a great way to advertise yourself and your business. When signing up, most forums will allow you to have a 'signature' which is simply a short three or four line advertisement about yourself and your business that appears everytime you make a post. This means that with each post you make, you have the potential of hundreds or even thousands of members seeing your ad, and clicking on your link.

Another benefit of frequent postings in forums is that Google and other major search engines constantly index forums for listings. Having your links posted numerous times can increase your search engine ratings. Lastly, being a frequent poster adds legitimacy to you and your business. Being a member of an active forum can bring you lots of business. A couple of things to keep in mind when posting in forums; first, make certain that the forum allows you to include your signature. Although most will allow you to include it, some have rules that will prohibit you from adding your signature until you've posted a set number of times. Be sure to check out the terms before joining. Another thing is to make sure that your posts have relevance to the topic in discussion. Keep your posts on topic, and don't do the 'me too' kind of posts. They add nothing to the discussion, and quickly reveal your motives. Forums should definitely be a part of your plan to create free long term traffic. Sign up with a few, and start posting today!

A third way to get lots of free targeted traffic is posting to Newsgroups such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. This simple process consists of posting ads at each of these sites by clicking on the 'Groups' link and signing up for Groups that relate to your interests. You'll find that each of these sites have a search feature that allow you to search for groups that are appropriate for your interests. Be aware that some groups are private, and allow posts only by the person that started the group. While these groups may have interesting or educational material, your goal is to advertise yourself, so be certain that a group allows other members to post before joining. You can also start your own group. This allows you to have a bit more control over the group discussion, and can permit you to steer the discussion in the direction you want to go. Setting up a group is a simple process that involves selecting a name for your group, creating the group, and posting. Since most groups have rules about posting and spam, don't post the same thing numerous times, or you could find that your group suddenly disappears!

When it comes to winning the website war, traffic is indeed 'king'. While some will have you believe that all traffic is good traffic, the truth is, you need laser targeted traffic to increase your chances of success. Using the combination of Article Directories, Forums, and Newsgroups will allow you to not only increase your internet traffic, but enable you to hone in your target audience.

Information based marketing is one of the oldest and most effective techniques for bringing targeted prospects to your site and converting them into buyers. This is part of the reason that software, and distribution services that make the process of article promotion easier are so popular lately.

Though the various tools you can use to make the process of distributing your articles more easily are invaluable in getting your content to the places that have the most potential to bring you exposure, that’s only half of the story. Getting article marketing to work for your site lies in two things:

• The article you’re submitting, and
• The preparation you do before you a single word of your content is written.

Since those two determining factors make at least 50% of the difference in bringing you success, let’s take a look at what the most common mistakes are in that area, and how to overcome them.

Mistake #1 - Confusing the Reason to Promote with Articles with the Reason to Write an Article

There are three reasons to promote an article - branding, lead generation and as a corollary, to promote your site. Yet there is only one reason to write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If your article is not geared towards this as its primary purpose, you will fail to see the three benefits of promotion - no one will want to read your article.

How many links you’re able to generate by submitting your article to hundreds of sites will matter little if you’re unable to get them picked up by publications, or read by people who search for information.

Sure, if you know what you’re doing all those links pointing back to your site will count for something in your search engine results - but remember that generating links to your site is only one part of optimizing your site for Google, Yahoo or MSN. And if everyone is doing it, the effect will be dulled.

To overcome this issue, you’ll need to figure out how to get people to read what is in your article, and then click through to your site from your resource box.

Mistake #2 - Starting The Article Promotion without a Plan

Not every article can fulfil all three purposes of promotion. Some will work better for branding, others can generate leads and increase sales. But if you don’t start out with a plan for what the function of your article should be, you’ll end up unhappy with the results.

To overcome this issue, before you write a single word, decide what purpose the article is supposed to serve. An article meant to brand you as an expert should display your knowledge. One for generating leads may need to be geared towards solving a very specific problem.

Mistake #3- Content That Doesn’t Help Your Reader

Maybe you’re thinking: “All I want is links back to my site - any visitors the article generate is gravy.”

Well guess what? Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically. You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories want to share with readers - and all it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience tenfold.

So if you want article marketing to work for you, write articles that publishers want in their publications.

This also means obeying the standard guidelines, running a spell check, or even hiring a writer to produce articles on your behalf.

Mistake #4 - Failing to Maximize the Promotional Opportunities of Article Marketing

You already know that articles marketing can help you generate additional links back to your site. But did you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from articles in a variety of ways?

You can mention your desired keyword in strategic places, though you should take care not to overdo this. Some people will also tell you to make use of anchor text, which can also is an effective method. However, you should know that the majority of directories and publications aren’t able to support this.

There are alternatives to this method that are just as effective, if not more so, but they require more space to explain.

Mistake #5 - Trying to Make One Article Do Too Much

An article just can’t do the same job as a short PDF report, an entire web site, your book, or DVD series. And it wasn’t meant to either. Stick within suggested word counts, and keep your resource box as simple as you can. Also, only about a third of your articles need to have the motive of enhancing your SEO efforts.

Remember, you can get penalized for over-optimization as well, particularly in the case of uniform anchor text.

It’s not always a great idea to pepper your article with links either. When all the links are to your own site, they probably won’t get hyperlinked anyway. Even if they do, the more your article appears to be purely about promoting your site, as opposed to providing information, the less likely that your links will be clicked.

If the links are to other sites that you’re reviewing as resources, this can work, but in the case of more than a handful of sites, it’s often a better idea to offer a free ebook from your site containing the full reviews.

Yes, your article should be as informative as you can make it, but if you find yourself near your word limit, save the rest of the tips for next time, or continue at your own site.

Mistake #6 - Leaving Them Wanting Less

What’s the point of submitting every day if your objective is to get your article picked up by a publisher? In a way, you have to think of your potential ezine publisher as a prospect as well - a confused prospect just goes away. Shoving 20 articles under their noses gives them 20 times the amount of work to do.

The issue of confusing your prospect can also be an issue if you’re only submitting to article directories as well. Think of what happens when you see a commercial for a show you’d like to see on television too often. What happens when your favorite song gets played on the radio a bit too much?

No matter how much you may love that TV show or your favorite song, there’s a point of over-saturation that causes you either to begin to ignore it - or worse yet - actually hate the very mention of it. You don’t want this to happen to your content.

There’s also the issue of pacing yourself. Every writer eventually runs into one of two problems - a lack of ideas for new material, or a lack of time to write them up. You could derail much of your efforts of increasing exposure to your site if you aren’t able to keep up the supply of content you produce.

The most common advice is to submit an article a week. Through a distribution service, or to publications that are geared towards ezine publishers who want content, this is probably best. If you’re submitting directly to article directories, more often than that may be okay if the site’s guidelines allow it - but more than that is overkill.

If you really want to send out content on a daily basis, you’re better off syndicating yourself through a blog or RSS feed at your own site and generating your own group of subscribers.

Mistake #7 - Stopping Half Way Through the Promotional Process

This has got to be the top mistake of marketers who say â€Å“This just doesn’t work for me.” True, you may start to see links or even traffic within 24 hours of your article being submitted, however, if you don’t promote your articles deeply and widely enough, you’re probably not going to see your desired results.

First of all, particularly when you’re just establishing yourself as an expert, you need to submit to as many places as you can.

Most people only submit to ten or fifteen high traffic article banks with high Google PR, not realizing that there may be up to 100 sites that will take their articles that get most of their readers via RSS , ezine publications, or even through distribution offline. My short list of places that have brought me publicity contains over 400 sites, most of which take articles on just about any topic.

So not only should you be submitting your article to more places, doing this for two weeks and then stopping is not going to bring you any long-term effects. Your first four weeks as an article marketer should see you submitting at least one article a week.

If you don’t have it in your schedule to write and submit that often, then get a ghostwriter and hire a distribution service. (Just be aware that even a distribution service won’t be able to send your articles to every single place you want to submit to.)

You could also write many articles in advance, and get someone else to do the submissions for you.

Mistake #8 - Improper Use of Past Content

One trick that some article marketers use is to attempt to recycle an article they’ve already written. That’s not to say that this technique doesn’t have potential. But you also can’t possibly expect publishers to accept content that is simply a re-hash of what they’ve already seen before.

So don’t just change the title and re-submit. Change your content as well. You can do this by re-targeting to another audience. Maybe your business tips for work at home moms could be geared towards small business if you add, remove and change a few things.

Article marketing is one of the simplest and easiest ways to increase visitors to your site if done correctly, and has inherent search engine benefits as well.

1. Article Writing

These are the two major benefits of writing an article related to your website content and submitting it to free article directories:

* The people who read your article will most likely click the link in your resource box and this will send you targeted visitors to your website. If you write a informative article, people will recognize you as an expert and will want to find out more information about you and your business

* Every person who publishes your article must also include the resource box with your website link in it. The more articles you have published, the more backlinks you will have to your website. This will help increase your search engine ranking and page rank over time.

2. Posting To Forums

There are many forums on the Internet on every topic you can think of.

Many forums will allow you to attach a signature to your post. Many times this signature can include a link back to your website or a affiliate linkYou should pick a few forums to visit regularly on topics related to your website and answer questions and make informative posts. After awhile you will build a good reputation with the other members and they will trust you, and you will get free exposure to your website. Some posts receive thousands of visitors. Posting to forums can also be indexed by the search engines.

Be sure to make a useful contribution to the forum and don't just spam.

3. Reciprocal Linking

There are two main benefits to reciprocal linking:

* The more links you exchange with other websites, the more of a chance the person will click on your link leading to your website.

* More links to your site will increase your page rank and it will be perceived as more important by the search engines. There are some things to avoid when exchanging links with other websites.

* You should link to sites that will be of interest to your visitors. And also link to sites related to your site content.

* You should not link to sites that have hundreds of links on one page or a very un-organized directory, this can hurt you in the search engines. Only link to sites that have a clearly labeled link page and not hidden where no one can see or click.

* Do not post to FFA link farms. This is a waste of time and will not get you any traffic. It also might get you banned from search engines.

* Keep track of all your link exchanges with software or a contact sheet. Also make sure that your link partners have not removed your link from there website.

4. Email Signatures

This is the oldest and simplest way to get traffic to your website

Millions of us send e-mail everyday, but most of us just sign our name or nothing at all at the end of a message

Try including your name with a URL, tag line or slogan. Keep it short and to the point and avoid shouting at someone or hype. You will be amazed at how many visitors this will bring you. People will click your link out of curiosity and send traffic to your site.

5. Traffic Exchanges

This is the last and easiest way to generate free traffic to your website. You can surf for free credits or build a downline and receive free credits for the sites that they surf. our favorite site is http://www.autosurfmonster.com

So how do you grab the attention of someone who is only looking at your website for a few seconds?

* Spend some time surfing and learn what type of market it is. You are going to want to advertise a site that is going to be of interest to the people on the exchange.

Do these five free methods regularly and you should be on your way to free targeted traffic to your website which will increase with time.

Got blog? No, why not? Are you afraid you can't write? Maybe you think you can't set one up. Or, is it because you think you don't have the time. That's the lamest excuse of them all!

If you expect to build a list, you need people's eyeballs on your squeeze page, and blogs will do that for you. Search engines love them because they're mainly text based. All you need to do to rank high in the search engines is to make a daily entry. Try to stick to a theme, and make sure that keywords surrounding your niche are in every single post, it won't take long for your blog to be ranked. One of mine got a PR5 in less than six months, and a PR5 is great!

When Google appoints page rank, it depends on lots of factors. I don't want to get into that now, but let's just say that a PR5 will show up better in search results than a PR0, 1, 2, 3, or 4. And for that reason it will get more traffic. The goal is to get your blog into the first three pages of results, the first page being the most desirable, with the top spot as your bullseye. That position gets the most traffic of all.

But let's address the issues that are stopping you.

You think you can't write:

Well, you can. Anyone can. If you need something to help you, get a home study course and learn it. Then, sit in front of your computer or a blank sheet of paper, and just sit there. Soon, you'll begin to form ideas. Write them down. Do this for one hour, at the same time, every day. Eventually, you'll train your brain to think, "It's writing time!"

Or, find content from other places on the web. Go to one of the free article directories, like Ezine Articles or iSnare, and find content that's pertinent to your niche. Be sure to use the whole article, if you do this. Add a paragraph of introduction at the beginning and a paragraph after the author's bio box at the end, and wrap the article in your own words. If you use other people's words any other way, be sure to use less than 10% or you're plagiarizing. If you want to use any more than that, ask the author. And always give credit where credit is due.

You're still not convinced? OK, so hire a ghostwriter. You can find them easily at Elance.com or Craigslist.com, and look to pay around $10 - 15 an article. But all rights with the article and then, you can do anything you want with it, including rewriting, repurposing, rebranding with your own byline, selling it, etc.

You don't have the know-how to set up a blog:

Not many people do! But it's not a problem. If you are hosting on a cPanel server, WordPress can be installed easily by a great installer program called Fantastico. Just go into your cPanel account, and click Fantastico. Then, a whole bunch of options will probably come up. One of them will be "install WordPress blog," or something like that. You fill in a few blanks, and voila! You have your own blog. Editing the templates are another issue, and that may be a bit tricky for you, if you're not familiar with HTML or PHP.

If you don't know HTML, no worries. You can hire a programmer at places like RentaCoder.com. Tell them what you want and what you're willing to pay and you'll find someone to do the heavy lifting for you.

You don't have time for a blog:

You don't have time NOT to have a blog. Blogs are great for many reasons. First, as mentioned above search engines love them. By placing a link to your main site on your blog, you're getting a one-way link back to your site, too. That's also great for search engine optimization because search engines look at links like votes. The more one-way votes you have, the higher your site will rank. But the best thing about a blog is the traffic you'll get. Sign up for some Web2.0 sites, like StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, and Spicy Page, and book mark your posts there, too. You'll get tons of traffic!

People need to see your squeeze page to sign up for your list, right? If you don't take some action to make this happen, you won't get a very big list, so get that blog going. Join some Web 2.0 sites on blogging, too, like MyBlogLog.com, Technorati.com, or FeedBlaster.com. You'll see your traffic pick up. Maybe overnight!

If you're not doing so already, you may want to consider writing articles about your website's topic. Writing copyright free articles is a great way to:

Establish your credibility and build your reputation and brand
Establish yourself as an expert in your field
Increase your exposure on the internet
Gain laser targeted traffic to your website
Increase the number of one way links to your website, which should help your website in the search results.

Writing articles about the topic of your website is a fantastic way to demonstrate your expertise and credibility and at the same time allows you to build your reputation and your brand. Submitting your articles to the various free article sites gives your articles the opportunity to be picked up by other webmasters for their websites and newsletters. When your articles get used on these other websites they must be used with the author bio section un-edited. This means that you can generate one way links to your website, which in turn leads to greater exposure and better rankings in the search engines. If the readers of your articles on other sites click through to your site, you gain targeted traffic.
Some Article Writing Tips
To get the greatest benefit from your article writing endeavors, try to keep the following article writing tips in mind:

Try to stay away from turning your article into a sales pitch. Give your readers credit - they will be able to distinguish a sales pitch right away. Once they think they're just reading another sales pitch they will quickly click away from your article. I can just about guarantee that no one will pick up your sales pitch and use it on their website, unless it's one of your affiliates.

Don't include too many hyperlinks within the article body and stick to only one in the author bio section. Most webmasters will not pick up an article, no matter how good it is, if there are too many outgoing links. I would recommend not having any links within the article body but sometimes this is unavoidable.
Which situation would you rather have: 1 article with 1 outgoing link to your website that gets picked up by 1,000 webmasters or 1 article with 10 outgoing links that gets picked up by 10 webmasters?

Check, re-check and then check your article again for typos and grammatical errors. Have someone else proofread it for you before submitting it. Nothing says amateur more than typos and grammatical errors.

Write articles that complement the topic of your website. Don't write about something totally unrelated to your website. Remember, you want to establish your credibility and expertise. Write about what you know.

When adding that one link back to your site, make sure to include a keyword targeted link back to your site. I'm talking specifically about the words between the anchor tags. For example, this is how you should structure the link back to your website:
keywords go here
.
When the search engine robots come across this link they will index the anchor text and it will help you with those keywords in the search engines. Do not waste this valuable link by just having your website address (www.website.com) as the anchor text unless you have your main keywords in the website address. Try to vary the keywords a little as well when creating this link. There is speculation that having too many "uniform" links to a site may hurt you - just something to keep in mind.

Do not place a copyright notice at the top of your article. This leads to confusion and may cause webmasters to stay away from posting your articles on their website and in their newsletters.

It may be a good idea to write completely new content for your articles. Some writers just copy and paste parts of their websites and put them into articles. This may lead to a "duplicate content" penalty and may end up hurting your search engine results. I would recommend that you should play it safe and come up with totally new content for your articles.

How Many Articles Should I Write?
The number of articles that you will have to write really depends on how good your competitors are. If you're competing against many highly optimized websites, then you may have your work cut out for you. On the other hand, if you notice that your competitors are not all that great at the SEO thing, your road to article writing will be much shorter. Any way you look at it, writing articles can bring too many benefits that are yours for the taking.

Here is a website traffic strategy that takes less than 90 minutes to implement, but generates free website traffic on an ongoing basis - potentially for years.

It operates on the principle that "long tail" keywords have very low competition, so your ability to rank on the first page of the search results on Google, Yahoo and MSN is not only easy, but fast as well.

Here is how you do it:

Use a keyword research tool like Wordtracker.com to research keywords related to the topic of your website. Use their "competition search" function in order to find out the number of competing websites on Google. (For more details on how to do this, click the link at the end of this article for a free resource guide.)

Browse through the keyword results and look for keywords with a predicted 24-hour search volume greater than 10, but with a "google" competing pages count of less than 1000.

Why a competition rate of 1000? Isn't that a lot? Well surprisingly enough, the number of supposedly-competing pages is not really representative of the true number of pages actively trying to rank high for any given term.

The number simply represents how many web pages happen to contain the particular keyword phrase we're looking at. In fact, taking any given competition number, probably as few as 1% of those web pages are actively trying to rank high for that keyword. That means that if there are 1,000 web pages bearing a particular keyword, only perhaps 10 of them are actively competing for it.

Thus with fewer than 10 active competitors, the prospect of ranking on the first page (i.e. the top 10) of search results is very good.

Let's look at an example.

Suppose we do some keyword research for the keyword phrase "dog food." Wordtracker shows that there will be a predicted 1358 searches every day for that term. However, there are 1.6 million competing web pages. For sure, ranking on the first page for that term could be a "home run" in terms of traffic, but there would be an enormous amount of competition for that first page. Even 1% of 1.6 million is still 16,000 active competitors.

The chances of outranking 15,990 of them are slim to none. This is a polite way of saying that shooting for that particular term is a gigantic waste of time. The predicted search volume of 1358 searches per day is a red herring. It's distracting. It's irrelevant. It only matters to the top 10 web pages, and that isn't going to be you. So don't let it sway you into wasting time targeting that keyword.

Instead, consider some of the "long tail" keyword phrases, their predicted daily search volume, and their competing web pages:

"top ten dog foods", 88 searches/day, 1040 competing web pages
"hypoallergenic dog food", 86 searches/day, 539 competing web pages
"best dog foods ranked", 86 searches/day, 1010 competing web pages
"best dry dog food", 70 searches/day, 511 competing web pages
"dog raw food diet", 68 searches/day, 333 competing web pages
"recipes for homemade dog foods", 67 searches/day, 110 competing web pages

And the list goes on. And on.

So, just for these 6 terms alone, there are an estimated 465 searches per day. If you could rank on the first page of the search results, how much traffic do you think you'd get? Well clearly it would depend on whether you were in the first one or two spots, or lower down the page. But assuming just 10% of the searchers visited your website, that's still 46 visitors per day just by targeting 6 achievable keywords.

Think how much traffic you'd get if you targeted 60. Or 600.

But before we get too carried away, we have to talk about two more steps. Knowing what keywords to target is crucial, but actually doing the work to compete for them is what makes everything work.

First, you need to create a web page on your website that caters to the desired term. Your best results will come if you "theme" your website, so that all the web pages that talk about dog food, for example, link only to other pages that talk about dog food, and not to any other topics or websites.

Then on the specific page in question, you need to create some content. Not necessarily a huge amount - but some. You need to include the keyword phrase you are targeting in the Title tag of your web page, and again a number of times in the text on your web page. Don't over-do it, but just write naturally using your keyword whenever it makes sense to do so.
Don't over-think your web content. It's important, but not critical. The really important bit comes next.

Write an article. Make it 400-600 words and write it "about" whatever keyword phrase you want to target. At the end of the article, you have a "resource box" in which you can place a link back to your website. Instead of merely linking to your domain name, link directly to the keyword-specific page you just created. And when forming the link, ensure that the keyword phrase appears in the text of the link (called the "anchor text").

Then distribute your article to article sites around the Internet. You can submit it to sites like ezinearticles.com and isnare.com for good exposure. You can also sign up for a service such as articlemarketer.com for maximum exposure.

Over the coming weeks, your article will be picked up by dozens - perhaps hundreds - of websites, all linking back to your new web page. It won't be long before your new web page rockets to the top of the search engines.

So, how much of your time does this whole operation take? It depends. Probably less than 90 minutes. Keyword research takes about 10 minutes, writing web page content about 20 minutes, and writing and distributing a short article about an hour.

Of course, it won't be long before you'll want to hire out the task of article and content writing. This way you'll get far more web pages done because you'll have other people doing the work. Elance.com or rentacoder.com are excellent venues to find writers who will create content and articles for you for between $5 and $10 per article.

This strategy is tremendously scaleable and can bring you an enormous amount of free website traffic. It has brought success to many an Internet marketer, and it will for you too if you simply follow it. There are new keywords and phrases being used every day as new products are invented and new ideas become popular. This means that the supply of achievable "long tail" keywords will never be exhausted and you can have as much free website traffic as you want.

Free Traffic and Traffic Generation Sites

Traffic generation sites can be good and bad. Most are not worth your time, however, there are a few good ones, so choose with care. We recommend
http://www.Autosurfmonster.com . This site is better than most because people really view your site.

Free Traffic and Viral Marketing

Let others help with your marketing efforts. You can have strangers pass your site to others and span the globe with viral marketing. Create viral marketing with a free e-book or inviting email, it is powerful and free. To start a viral marketing campaign that grows exponentially and without effort send a witty or clever joke, picture, or poem to people in your address book. If enjoyed the recipient will pass it on to those in their list and so on. You may have received the Bill Gates free offer in your own box. This email has been circulated around the world for over three years and seen by countless. Be sure to include your url with a heading, either near the bottom or in a signature file. Do this once a month and watch your web traffic grow.

Pass on a free e-book with you contact details inside. Encourage others to add it to their websites and offer your branded e-book to everyone. This includes your bio, contact information and links to your site. Cannot write? No problem. There are thousands of books available for you to co-brand and start your viral trail.

Free Traffic and Joint Ventures

Setting up joint ventures may be the most powerful free method available to increase targeted traffic. Joint ventures are simply colorations or partnerships between two or more people or businesses. It is not essential that the partnerships even be in related businesses, though helpful. Just about any combination will work. Obviously competing businesses are not a wise or practical option for a joint venture. That still leaves plenty of other partners. There is no limit to what can be done with this marketing technique. The venture can be as simple as trading client databases, or it can be an elaborate cross promotions with contests and giveaway. A joint venture is only limited by the creativity of the parties involved. If you have the right partner this will do wonders for your credibility and, the know, like, trust, buy formula for success.

Free Traffic and Meta Tags

Meta tags are very important. If you are not an expert on tags, we highly suggest you research Meta tags optimization techniques. To have a Google spider find you and have you listed will do wonders for your traffic. Never pay to have your site listed, there are too many ways to have it listed. Too often these pay sites will not do what is promised or what you could do with a little effort.

Free Traffic and Offline Marketing Techniques

To maximize your online presence you have to go offline and bring foot traffic to the web as targeted web traffic. Here are a few low cost offline marketing techniques that will give you added visibility and translate to a more powerful web presence. Turn your automobile into a mini billboard. Place bumper stickers and magnet signs on your vehicle. Leave a business card wherever possible. One suggestion is to leave it with your tip at a restaurant. Hang flyers on high traffic bulletin boards, be sure to leave a pull tab. Change your body into a walking billboard for your opportunity and products instead of someone else’s. How often do you promote Nike, Polo, Guess, or a professional sports team? Start promoting yourself and get your clothes embroidered. It does not have to be anything fancy, a good descriptive url will work.

Free Traffic and Your URL

One last tip. As we mentioned before, we get traffic from posts that are over a year old. Once something is on the internet it is there for good. The url you promote should be permanent. This is important because anything could happen. What if you are no longer with the same company? All previous links to that business are now useless. If you have one url and it either links or redirects to you business opportunity and products you simply have to change the link or redirect page. You will always get a hit when someone clicks on your link.

We hope you enjoyed the article and wish you all the best with you business venture. We are sure you are well on you way to becoming a successful internet marketing professional.

So, link exchange works like an automatic and absolutely free traffic system that drives targeted traffic for any web site.

3. Get bigger effect from the traffic you drive to web site with professional mailing tools.

Once you got the visitor into your database, you can follow up this client with more products and services that you have. You may have more products and services in future, and this visitor will be your potential client for all of them.

Targeted web site traffic is crucial for every web site. But there are many web sites, and all they are different. Is it possible to make a universal plan of actions for getting targeted web site traffic to any type of web site? Actually such plan of actions already exists.

This universal plan to get targeted web site traffic can be split into three main stages:

(1) Getting Targeted Web Site Traffic
(2) Growing The Client Base And Getting More Sales
(3) Adjusting Web Site To Current Online Market Requirements

So, let's briefly cover all the stages. You will see how this plan of actions may fit any online business you have.

Start Up - Get Targeted Web Site Traffic

Step # 1. Find joint venture partners and affiliates in your niche.

If you do this manually, then you just have to submit your major niche keywords into search engine and find top 'competitors' in your niche. You will turn these competitors into your allies.

Step # 2. Get email addresses and names of your partners and affiliates-to-be.

You need to scroll the found web sites and get contact data: email and web site owner name. If you do not find this data on the web site, you can look in WHOIS for it. After these two steps you have gathered your own base of successful web sites in your niche. Time to make the next step.

Step # 3. Send a joint venture or affiliate offer.

This step is both easy and difficult. Easy because you already have database with web site owners' names and their email addresses: you can use any mass mailing tool to send these people your offer. If you personalize your message with name of a person whom you are writing, this will not be qualified as SPAM. Personalization is very important for your JV and affiliate finding campaign.

The offer itself should be very, very attractive. Do not try to cheat your future partners saying that your web site has huge traffic, if it does not. Better show them the potential of your web site and the potential for extra profits they can make with you. All web sites were starting from something: it is not bad if you still have not gained much, it is bad if you do not know how to make profit from what you have.

Note # 1: JV partners and affiliates will make a great job for you - they will bring targeted visitors to your web site and advertise your offers to their clients or to the targeted online audience. Make sure to offer them good conditions of cooperation: the more motivated they are to work with you, the better they will work to give you targeted web site traffic or advertise your offers.

Note # 2: First three steps may take much time to be done. But today there are many web-based tools that do this job automatically. This will save you much time and efforts, and turn hours of work into minutes.

Grow The Client Base - Getting More Sales

Step # 4. Set up link exchange directory.

It is very important that many web sites should have links to your web site. But even more important is that these web sites should be from your business niche. These web sites should be found by the keywords that you want other people to find your web site with.

If you have many relevant links in your directory, search engines will 'think' that your web site is a real magnet in the niche, and these search engines will automatically raise your web site status. The bigger is your status, the more targeted web site traffic you will get to your web site.

One more tip: the best way is to convince your link exchange partner to exchange links on home pages of your web site. It is not very easy to do, but it is possible, and it will give great results.

STEP # 5. Use autoresponders to convert prospects into clients.

Internet statistics says that usual web site visitor averagely stays on web page for about 20 seconds. If this visitor found nothing interesting on your web site during this time, the visitor may leave your web site forever. Autoresponder will help you to catch this visitor and get the visitor back to your web site any time you wish.

Autoresponders have the magic power of follow upping. With autoresponder you can educate and motivate your visitors to use your offers and grow your client base at the same time.

You put on your web site a subscription form which offers your web site visitors to get more interesting info/product discount/special offer/download materials for free. Once they have entered their name and email address to subscription form, you got them into your own database. Now they are your prospects. Make sure that you give your prospects really interesting info which has close relation to the specifics of your web site.

You can give some educational materials, or you can give articles with reprint rights about the benefits of your product/service, you can give fresh updates about important events of your niche market, etc. Give them all you can to get prospects back to your web site ready for some action on it.

The more prospects you have in your mailing list, the more targeted traffic you will get, and the more sales you will make.

STEP # 6. Convert traffic into sales.

Use mailing list, autoresponder and URL tracking tools to raise the effectivity of your offers. Check what offers give better response, use them more, improve them - work with your clients. Let them feel your personal care about their needs.

The number of strategies here is unlimited. It can only be limited with your imagination and desire to work. The core principle is simple: you have targeted traffic - what it may need. Materials, discounts, advertising copies, bonuses, free gifts, additional/supplementary products of your 'competitors' (you see, now you are very useful for JV partnership even to the most successful web sites in your niche).

If you are right about what your clients may need, they will surely buy it, subscribe for it, reserve a bonus copy of it, etc.

Adjust Your Web Site To Current Online Market Requirements

Step # 7. Check what gives money and what gives losses.

Use URL tracking tools to check what strategies, ads, web page texts, online campaigns give nice results - stick to them. If you see that something gives losses - eradicate useless efforts.

URL tracking is the tool for getting the real picture of your business. You may be absolutely sure that your ad copy #1 is better than ad copy #2, but unless you tried it - this is just a suggestion. However if your ULR tracking tool shows that ad copy #1 was clicked 70 times and ad copy #2 was clicked 500 times, this is statistic data.

Do not run your business with closed eyes. Track what brings you profits, and what gives losses. And go with the things that give you profits.

Step # 8. Make necessary changes to web site.

Once you found that any element on your web site needs changes, do the changes immediately. The best way to make changes is by using content management system. Content managements systems are easy: if you have ever worked with WordPad or any other word processor, you already know how to use content management system.

Make necessary changes to get more profits from your web site.

Step # Last. Test, test, test - this is not a new suggestion, but a very important one. Always keep your hand on the pulse of your online business.

Summary.

As you can see, this plan of actions can be applied to any web site.

The steps are not detailed, but now you know that getting free targeted web site traffic is not a myth. It is just a matter of special tips and techniques. Try this plan of actions and see how it will work for you.

Higher Page Rank = Higher Search Engine Positioning = More Site Traffic

Fully Optimize Your Site For The Search Engines
Before beginning the little known secrets to increase website traffic free, spend some time tweaking your website, using basic search engine optimization techniques.

Using a Keyword Rich Title - This is a carefully researched term or key phrase people would search for in the search engines that would lead to your website. Generally, you would not use the name of your business unless it happens to be an effective keyword for your topic.

Use the Title Tag Correctly - You have seen pages scattered throughout the search engine results that have not inserted the title tags correctly. The page was picked up as, "Untitled" or "New Page."

Focus Your Content - Don't try to cram 10 different topics in on just one page! Concentrate on one topic per page, using your keyword rich content.

Use Text Links - Fancy menus look great, but usually the k.i.s.s. idea is best. (Keep it simple stupid!) If you want the search engines to find you, use text links. Add a site map to your website, along with a link to it on every page!

Include a Resource Page of Links - If you want people to link to your site, don't hide the links resource page. Make sure your "home" page is linked directly to it.

Why Do I Need to Exchange Links?
One determining factor for page rank with the major search engines, is link popularity. Google Information for Webmasters indicates that the number of sites linking to a particular website address is the single biggest factor in determining what sites are indexed by Google. Of course that makes link exchange with related sites absolutely vital to the success of all of our websites!

Even without the search engines, exchanging links makes sense because it's bound to drive traffic to your site! We are confident that these statements don't come as any big surprise to you, but this is where those special techniques begin to come into play.

5 Little Known Techniques To Stronger Link Exchange
Are All Inbound Links Created Equal?

Banner / Image Links
Plain Text Links
Text Links Using Anchor Text
Adding Title Tags To Anchor Text
Banner Or Image Link Adding Title & Alt Tag
Banner / Image Links

A picture is worth a thousand words, so banner or image links must be best, right? Actually, unless they combine it with several other techniques, this is the least favorable link exchange program. Search engine spiders are unable to "see" pictures in terms of connecting the image to some type of keyword that would lead to your site. Therefore, it’s not a very valuable link, unless someone actually clicks on it. This type of link is better than no link at all, but the traffic it actually leads to your website will be limited.

Plain Text Links
Think about this for a moment. Search engines are looking for keywords, requested by someone looking for information. The stronger the possibility that your website is the correct match to the request, the higher your site will appear in the search results for that keyword. Naturally, the more times your carefully chosen keywords lead to your site, the higher your web traffic will be.

Wow! Then plain text links to your website must be the answer, right? Well, not exactly. Consider all the times you have seen the linked text, CLICK HERE to see yada yada yada. This results in the key phrase, "click here" being associated with your site. If someone clicks on the link, you will see traffic, but it will be unpredictable and limited.

Adding Text Links Using Anchor Text
Anchor text is really just a fancy way of describing linked text. Search engines appear to give more weight to this style of a link. You will begin seeing your Google PageRank increase, as you begin building strong incoming links.

Adding Title Tags to Anchor Text
You can strengthen the weight of the anchor text link even more, by adding a title attribute tag, also known as a screen tip. Hold your cursor over the link, in the example above, many browsers show a little screen tip box displaying your selected text.

Banner Or Image Link Adding Title Attribute & Alt Tag
Alt tags provide alternative text for images to visually impaired individuals, who reach the net through audio-based browsers. They also provide alternative text for individuals who have disabled image loading in their browsers.

Search engines do appear to "see" and use alt text as content, when indexing your site. In terms of SEO techniques, keep this fact in mind, when selecting alternative text for your images. Do not use alt tags to "stuff" your pages with keywords. It is however, an opportunity to use applicable key phrases.

If you wanted the strongest possible incoming link, combine all the techniques together, adding visual appeal, as in the example below.

You don't have to spend more than a few minutes in a marketing forum, to discover that everyone seems to be looking for Strategies to Improve Writing Style that will solve their internet marketing challenges.

Lead By Example
If you want to receive high quality, keyword rich, incoming links, then you need to lead by example. When linking to other websites, take the time to find out which key words they are targeting and how they would like their link displayed. Remember, "You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."

Final Notes
Use a consistent method of navigation on your website, implementing all of these techniques throughout your site. This will help insure that the search engine robots find and index all of your pages.
